Just one of those days

Well yesterday we finally went on our Sand Safari trip and it was an awesome trip. We went 4x4ing, skiing, and "sandboarding" the dunes. I even got a chance to go swimming as well. Overall the trip was pretty good. We ate well and fun was had by all, even the boss who was getting sick from some of the bumps we were taking. It was pretty cool to go out there and actually see how far away we were from Saudi Arabia (which wasn't really that far at all). The sights of the sand dunes were pretty cool. I could see myself coming back here to visit, once the war on terror is over. The sand around here reminds of some of the sand at the beaches back in Hawaii. It's real fine, gritty and gets everywhere LOL. It was slightly windy, so sand was flying everywhere, but it wasn't that bad. If you ever get to do something like this I would recommend you take the opportunity and do it.

One thing that struck me as being surreal was the fact that, while we were driving through the dunes, we listened to country Christmas carols in a.....predominnantly Muslim country. It just seemed so strange. Out in the desert and we are listening to songs that would make one think of snowy days and nights sitting by the fireplace.

I will be leaving this country shortly. Though I don't want to leave just quite yet, I'm looking forward to going back to Atlanta and being normal. I look forward to going to the bar and clubs and getting piss drunk and not have to worry about a 3 beer limit. I will now be able to drink hard liquor and not worry about getting in trouble over it. I will now be able to wake up in my apartment and decided whether or not I want to watch porn. I'll be able to look at a wider selection of magazines at the store and not be disappointed with the the current selection, that is 1 or 2 months behind the states, and wish for more variety. I'll now be able to pick up alot more CD's so I can DJ better. I'll get to touch my turntables after 8 months of a forced separation. I'll be able to look at people on the street who are upset about their living conditions at their condo and let them know that they don't know how good they've got it. And the utmost importance I get to see my dog and cat. I've missed them so much and can't wait to hear them yelp and meow.
